October 28, 2025, 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (US Central)

Join Clare Lindahl (SWCS CEO) and Jenny Seifert (watershed outreach specialist with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, Natural Resources Institute) for one of the top-attended sessions from this summer’s SWCS annual conference. Together, we will explore how online farmer engagement is working.
With virtual farmer engagement on the rise—how do we know if it’s effective? This session dives into evaluation results from Good Idea Shop Talks, a virtual meet-up series for farmer-to-farmer problem-solving related to conservation practices. It will also cover Good Idea Mini-grants, which challenged farmers and farm advisors to create videos or podcasts to share their experiences implementing edge-of-field practices.
Both are offshoots of the award-winning One Good Idea platform, a clearinghouse of farmer-led videos and podcasts designed to increase conservation practice adoption through farmer-to-farmer learning.
The results, drawn from participant surveys and interviews, highlight how these approaches build community, strengthen factors that lead to conservation practice adoption, and boost participants’ ability to influence their peers.
