The results of the Soil and Water Conservation Society’s (SWCS) Conservation Practitioner Poll are LIVE. Join SWCS CEO Clare Lindahl as she interviews her poll co-authors, Iowa State University (ISU) researchers Dr. J. Arbuckle, professor of rural sociology/extension sociologist and director of the Iowa Farm and Rural Life Poll, and Dr. Chris Morris, postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and former 15-year conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
Every day, conservation practitioners work hand-in-hand with farmers and landowners to implement plans and practices that protect our natural resources. They see what works, what doesn’t, and what could be improved. Yet, their voices are often missing from policy discussions. The 2024 Conservation Practitioner Poll brings their insights to the forefront, offering a clearer picture of what’s needed to strengthen conservation efforts.
