Farmers and agricultural service providers are invited to attend the Empire State Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society annual meeting. This year's meeting will be held in person with a virtual option for those interested. If registered for the virtual event, a Zoom link will be sent the evening before to the email address that is provided below.

Presentations will highlight how technology interacts with our conservation efforts for improved water quality and climate resiliency. This event will feature Debbie Aller, PhD and Extension Associate for the New York Soil Health Program at Cornell University. Dr. Aller will give an overview on biochar and its potential use in agricultural systems.  Participants will learn about:

  • Using technology in farm conservation planning and implementation
  • Strategies and Technologies in Field Tile Drainage
  • How behavioral science has been used in the Finger Lakes to facilitate conservation adoption

Lunch and refreshments are included with the in-person registration. CCA and DEC pesticide credits will be available.

In-person registration (after January 13, 2023) - $35 per person

Fees help offset the cost of the facilities, lunch and speaker expenses
