The Lapeer Conservation District and MSU Extension are hosting a 2-hour pasture walk event on a MAEAP-verified cattle farm and apple orchard. We will host a casual tour of the farm and pasture and have speeches and intros from various organizations and individuals. The farm owner, Bret, will talk about his operation, how he has grown his farm in the last few years, and what he is planning for the future. Kable Thurlow, a grazing specialist from MSU Extension, will speak to some of the practices that are used on the farm and how they fit into a grazing plan and ecosystem. We will be providing a casual meal and drinks for guests. We will also have MAEAP and NRCS staff helping to host the event, and a small portion of the time will be carved out to talk about the programs and technical assistance that are available for producers through their districts and service centers.

To get involved, you can contact me or Kable Thurlow at (989) 802-3384 or thurlowk@msu.edu or Brittany at the Gladwin MSU office at (989) 426-7741 email: msue.gladwin@msu.edu
