2024 EarthWalk is a three-hour outdoor event focusing on The Living Soil theme. The morning includes hands-on demonstrations, activities, and information focused on the event's theme (The Living Soil). Participants will also share career choices and healthy lifestyle choices/environmental habits that protect our local natural resources. All participants will leave with an "Earth Bag" filled with resources, including seeded paper to plant and flower pots.
The event includes agencies such as the NC Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), NC Wildlife Resources Commission, NC Forestry, NC State Parks, National Fish Hatchery, NC Soil and Water Conservation District, BeeKeepers, NC Department of Air Quality, NC Department of 4-H, Agriculture Extension and Horticulture, etc. In addition to the students, other members of the local community are invited to attend, including county managers, county commissioners, elected Soil and Water Board of Supervisors, local members of the NC House of Representatives, and State lobbyists.
