Chad Klotzbach is the CEO of Alleghany Services, a second-generation agricultural water management company based in western New York. Alleghany Services has approximately 50 employees and more than 40 years of experience serving farms and rural landscapes across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
A licensed Professional Engineer (PE), Chad focuses on agricultural water management, conservation drainage, and water quality practices, with an emphasis on putting conservation research into practical implementation. Through his work, he collaborates with farmers, landowners, conservation professionals, engineers, and researchers to help move soil and water conservation practices from planning and policy into field implementation.
Chad approaches agricultural water management from a systems perspective, recognizing that soil health, water quality, hydrology, agricultural productivity, and long-term landscape resilience must be addressed together. He has participated in national policy discussions focused on agricultural water management, infrastructure, and environmental stewardship. He is a member at large of the Empire State Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society and serves on the board of the Agricultural Drainage Management Coalition. He also serves as a county legislator in Genesee County, New York.
Chad is passionate about continuous learning, innovation, and workforce development, including building the technical capacity needed to implement conservation practices at scale. He earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA from Canisius University. Chad lives in western New York.
