- 1. How do I apply for the 2027 cohort?

Applications are open from July 15 to August 15, 2026, for the 2027 cohort. No late applications will be accepted. Complete and submit the application form. Participants will receive a confirmation email when their application is submitted.
- 2. Is there a cost to participate?

There is no cost for participants to take part in the Emerging Leaders Program. At this time, registration, travel, and lodging for the SWCS International Annual Conference will be the financial responsibility of the participant or their employer. However, this portion of the schedule is optional and not necessary to complete the program.
- 3. How much time does the program take?

The program runs September 1, 2026, to August 15, 2027, and has approximately 14 hours of learning included. Learn more about program details. Participants do not have to attend webinars live, but it is recommended.
- 4. Can folks participate internationally?

Yes! We do our best to vary webinar times to work for as many participants as possible. Those in other time zones may have to watch webinar recordings to stay updated with the program.
- 5. Can my coworkers join me?

Yes! We highly recommend participants invite their colleagues to also apply individually. It gives you an opportunity to learn together and help each other plan your event/activity.
- 6. Do I need permission from my employer to participate?

We recommend you do get permission so you can complete the program on work time; however, it is not necessary to participate. Reach out to elp@swcs.org to request an employer information email template.
- 7. When will applicants know if they are accepted?

Participants will hear back from us by September 1. Be sure to add elp@swcs.org to your safe senders list in your email. Check your spam folder if you don’t hear back by the first.
- 8. How can applicants accept their position in the cohort if accepted?

Applicants will be emailed their next steps by September 1. To accept their position in the cohort they will need to complete the pre-program questionnaire, and by doing so, agree to the ELP Release and Waiver of Liability.
