Roots to Results: Advanced Soil Health Workshop Program is a year-long professional development opportunity for agriculture and conservation professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in soil health systems. Hosted by Dubuque Farmer to Farmer in partnership with regional and national conservation organizations, this advanced program combines classroom instruction, hands-on field demonstrations, and peer collaboration.
Held across four two-day sessions (February, March, June, and September), participants will work directly with leading soil health experts and experienced farmers to explore advanced soil health principles, soil biology, cover crops, nutrient and pest management, reduced tillage systems, and the economic and social dimensions of conservation adoption. Sessions take place in both classroom settings and working farms throughout Dubuque County, Iowa, and Sinsinawa, Wisconsin.
Designed for professionals with a strong agronomic foundation—including conservation planners, crop advisors, and agency staff—Roots to Results equips participants with practical, field-tested tools to evaluate soil health, guide producers through system transitions, and support resilient, profitable, and environmentally sound farming systems. Enrollment is limited to 35 participants. Meals are included.
