This one-day seminar presents part I of the technical standards of New Jersey's Flood Hazard Area Control Act Rules. These rules represent the most stringent statewide flood mitigation and stream-corridor protection standards in the country.

Featured topics include: Standards for work within regulated waters; Threatened and endangered species; Preventing offsite flooding impacts; Flood storage displacement; Buildings; Utility lines.

This class is part of a 3-day certificate program covering all aspects of NJ's flood hazard area program. NJDEP instructors, including Vince Mazzei, PE, will discuss the flood hazard area program in detail and answer questions regarding technical issues and regulatory requirements involved in obtaining NJDEP flood hazard area permits and approvals. Details of the 2017 adoption will also be discussed.
