Welcome to our conservation community page! Here you'll find a fun poll, a free cartoon book, and a favorite quote from Aldo Leopold.

At the SWCS headquarters, we closed 2017 with reflection and are making big plans for the coming year. One of our 2018 conservation resolutions is to do a better job of communicating the importance of conservation beyond our membership. We believe that by increasing our outreach through the press, speaking engagements, and public education, we can bring attention to the importance of caring for our land and the valuable work of our members and supporters. We welcome your feedback and ideas for more fun ways to share the conservation message.

In January we asked you how you plan to become more engaged in conservation efforts in 2018. Results of the poll are in:

Be mindful of resource use -- 47%

Join an environmental organization -- 11%

Learn more about conservation -- 26%

Attend  a conference -- 16%

Thanks for participating!

The Story of Land: Its Use and Misuse through the Centuries

Did you know SWCS published a series of cartoon booklets on conservation issues in the 1980s? The messages are still relevant today, and we love the vintage vibe. Download a copy and share with the Earth-loving kid (or kid at heart) in your life!
