Ismael De Lara is a summer intern with the Soil and Water Conservation Society from Indiana. They are a senior in Natural Resources with Environmental Science with a concentration in Environmental Quality and Restoration at Purdue University. On campus they do research for the Purdue Agroecology Lab, with a focus on accessible drone applications for agriculture and carbon sequestration policy research. They hope to go to graduate school to get an MS in Agronomy and influence agriculture policy. They will be assisting with operations and logistics of the 80th SWCS International Annual Conference, planning a student and early career professional networking session during the conference, creating a social media calendar and designing posts, assisting with a retiree project, and more.
