Steve is the owner/operator of Soil Health LLC. He is currently working with the New Mexico Association of Conservation Districts as their soil health specialist and program manager. Steve retired in 2021 after a 34-year career with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) as the New Mexico State Resource Conservationist. He has worked for NRCS in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and in New Mexico at Estancia, Clovis, and Albuquerque as a District Conservationist and Soil Conservation Planner. He has a degree from New Mexico State University in Crops and Soil Science. He currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Southwest Regional Director and Treasurer of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS). He has served as SWCS Chapter President in both New Mexico and Wyoming and has held many other chapter positions. Steve was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
