Emerging Leader Ex-Officio Board Member

LeAnn Rutledge

LeAnn Rutledge has served in the nonprofit world for over fourteen years in the capacities of executive leadership, volunteer management, outreach and engagement, grant writing, grant research, grant management, grant administration, board engagement, and others. Over the last seven years, she has provided support to 15 soil and water conservation district boards as a liaison. Serving conservation districts is her passion.

As an informal educator, she has taught environmental stewardship and agriculture education lessons to over 8,000 children, youth, and adults. In 2018, she created a Conservation Education Collaborative program with local libraries to increase agricultural and environmental literacy in children up to five years old. LeAnn provides her expertise by serving as a volunteer board member for other nonprofit organizations that advocate for K-5th grade outdoor learning and economic development opportunities for small farmers.

LeAnn is a North Carolina A&T State University alumna holding a bachelor's degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences and a Waste Management certificate from the institution. She earned numerous environmental educator certifications during her time in Georgia. Hampton, Virginia, is the place she calls home. However, her time in Georgia has proven key to her career path progression.
