Buffers Workshop (Oregon)

Protecting Natural Resources with Conservation Buffers

Workshop held on April 19-20, 2011 in Portland, OR

The Conservation Buffer Workshop, co-hosted and organized by the Oregon and Inland Empire Chapters of the Soil and Water Conservation Society, included plenary sessions and oral and poster presentations designed to raise awareness of recent developments in the science and art of designing conservation buffers for a designated purpose. More than 100 participants explored the means used to measure, model, and demonstrate the effectiveness of buffers in mitigating off-site transport of agricultural chemicals.
