The Oklahoma Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society has received the following awards for their accomplishments in fostering the science and art of natural resource conservation and environmental management.
2004 Outstanding Chapter Award
The Outstanding Chapter Award is given each year one chapter within each of the eight regions in the United States. The selection process is managed by an awards committee as well as the board of directors.This award recognizes chapters overall accomplishments in the areas of activity promoting, developmental and educational workshops, and membership enhancement. The Oklahoma Chapter received this award for their continued involvement with environmental education, student chapter participation and collaboration with the international headquarters. In addition, the All-Oklahoma annual meeting which involved many participants in the fields of conservation and environmental management, turned out to be a great success.
2004 Sustained Performance Award
This award recognizes one chapter for continuing excellence and overall programming over more than two years The Oklahoma Chapter was selected for this award for their sponsorship activities and their fundraising efforts. The chapter has also been the recipient of the Outstanding Chapter Award ten times since 1990 and previously won the Sustained Performance Award in 1994.
