The SWCS annual conference brings together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers at all levels of government, along with a broad cross-section of other interest groups, to explore current issues in natural resource management and planning.
The 2004 Annual Conference will take place in the heart of downtown St. Paul – part of the “twin cities” of Minnesota. A modern metro area of more than one million people, St. Paul is the capital city of Minnesota. It is the commercial, cultural, and educational hub of the upper Midwest. In addition to cultural activities, the area offers an abundance of outdoor activities for all ages and interests. Check out the newly renovated Radisson Riverfront Hotel.
The theme for the annual conference, Headwaters of Conservation, will unfold in the plenary and concurrent sessions as well as in the technical tours.
The program will focus on four areas:
-
Soil and Environmental Quality
-
Agricultural Management and Environmental Quality
-
Assessing the Effectiveness of Conservation and Environmental Programs
-
Geo-spatial Technology for Conservation – Soil, Water, and Land
The conference agenda has changed for 2004. Plenary, concurrent sessions, and symposia will be held on Monday and Tuesday. Tours and workshops will be offered on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday. Posters and exhibits will be displayed on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. This new format substantially increases the time available for oral and poster presentations and for symposia. Saturday, July 24
