| H. Wayne Pritchard Lecturer for 2003 Annual Conference

Robert Caughlan, senior vice president of The Roanoke Company, Inc., San Francisco, CA, who also has a history in politics and environmental advocacy, will present the Pritchard Lecture during the opening plenary session of the Soil and Water Conservation Society’s 2003 annual conference, Monday, July 28, Spokane, Washington.
Mr. Caughlan’s 30-year career includes the following highlights:
- Chairman, Conservationists for Jimmy Carter.
- Special Assistant to the Deputy Administrator, US Environmental Protection Agency.
- White House staff for President Carter on solar energy and the Global 2000 Report to the President.
- Co-wrote, edited, and produced Future in the Cradle, an award-winning video documentary on global population issues.
- Produced the documentary film Solar Energy: The Great Adventure, winner of the Golden Eagle Award.
- Co-founder, Friends of the River.
- Board Member, Planning and Conservation League, Center for Marine Conservation, and Solar Cal Council.
Rob Caughlan will speak about the Carter administration’s visionary effort entitled the Global 2000 Report, how that vision was on/off target with particular respect to water supply and population forecasts, and his analysis of what the future holds.
