F5 Food Drive

Pack for Two--Feed the Hungry

As you pack your luggage to attend the 65th International Annual SWCS Conference, please pack for two. Bring non-perishable food items to donate to the St. Patrick Center of St. Louis and help someone who is hungry.

The St. Patrick Center is the largest provider of homeless services in Missouri and they need our help. Food will be collected during exhibit hours at the NRCS/Earth Team Booth. On Wednesday, July 21, the donations will be weighed, trucked and donated to feed the homeless clients of the St. Patrick Center in downtown St. Louis. Donated food will be presented to the St. Patrick Center by NRCS/SWCS during conference tour of City Seeds and McMurphy’s Grill.

This effort is part of the Feds, Farmers and Friends Feed Families (F5) summer food drive. In it, Chief  Dave White has challenged NRCS to lead USDA in the Department’s efforts to attain 50,000 pounds of donations between now and the end of August. SWCS conference goers can help. Join SWCS in supporting Chief White and NRCS with the F5summer food drive. Bring what you can and let’s see what we can do to “starve hunger” in St. Louis.

Please remember TSA airline restrictions while packing for two. Then enjoy the wonderful feeling you’ll get from participating in this great effort and the extra luggage space you’ll find as you pack your SWCS and St. Louis souvenirs for the trip home.
