For Presenters
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
When am I speaking?
The schedule for oral presentations and symposia sessions is available here: Concurrent Session/Symposia Schedule
Where do I submit an abstract?
Conference abstracts (and updates) should be submitted through the new system (HERE) not through the old "AllAcademic" system.
What about Posters and the size of the poster boards?
Poster boards are 8' wide and 4' high. They are cloth-backed, so velcro on the back of your poster will work.
We will also have push pins available, but if you want something specific, we recommend you provide your own materials so that you have exactly what you want.
You may put up your posters between 1:30 and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12.
You may take down your posters at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14. (5p for CIG Posters)
When is the deadline for registering?
As a speaker or presenter... June 2, 2009 ... Here's a link
What version of PowerPoint will the computers be running?
Most of the computers we will have will have PowerPoint 2003. It would be preferred if presenters saved their presentation as a 2003 version (if they otherwise operate a newer version). That will take away all the concerns about stuff not working.

Conference presenters,
The updated (v7) schedule for presentations at the 2009 SWCS Annual Conference is online at: www.swcs.org/09schedule
As a presenter and respondent to the call for papers, you are expected to register for the conference. Register online at www.swcs.org/09ac or by using the “see who has registered” link below. If you have not registered by the deadline, it is our intention to drop your presentation from the program and your abstract will not appear in the abstract book or final program.
You can check to see if you are registered (or if someone has registered on your behalf) at: www.tinyurl.com/swcs09list
ORAL PRESENTATIONS
You do NOT need to send us your presentation prior to the conference. Please bring your presentation with you as a PowerPoint file. The presentation needs to be on a FLASH DRIVE (USB drive). You will need to report to your presentation room 30-minutes prior to the beginning of the session block. (i.e. 1:00 p.m. for the 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m. concurrent session block.). There will be an AV tech in each room who will assist in loading and testing each of the presentations. We will have a laptop computer (with PowerPoint) and a projector in each room. Please bring your own laser pointer should you desire to use one.
The following table indicates the general time allotments for presentations based on the order of speakers and the starting time of your concurrent session. Each presenter in the oral presentations will have 20 minutes – ideally, 15 for the presentation and 5 for questions and answers.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Poster Boards are 4’ x 8’. They are cloth-backed, so velcro on the back of your poster will work. We will also have push pins available, but if you want something specific, we recommend you provide your own materials for affixing your poster to the boards. Time is allotted on Sunday afternoon between 1:30 and 4:00 p.m. to hang up posters. Authors are expected to be at their poster during the Sunday evening reception in the Exhibit/Poster Hall. Take down is Tuesday beginning at 3:30 p.m. (unless you are a CIG Poster presenter, then your take down time begins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday). Please do not bring additional posters which have not been accepted through the formal review process.
SYMPOSIA ORGANIZERS
You are the moderators for the session unless you have made other arrangements. You are NOT required to adhere to the above presentation schedule. You can craft your schedule as you wish. All other instructions are as above. Please make sure your presenters are registered for the conference. Please have everyone report to the appropriate room 30 minutes prior to the start of the session. An AV tech will be on site to assist you with your computers and projectors.
AFTER THE CONFERENCE
If you would like to have your presentation (or the presentations of your symposium presenters) hosted on the SWCS Website after the conference, please use the following form and website to grant the official release and upload your PDF file (5 MB max) to the formspring server. http://www.formspring.com/forms/SWCS-2009releaseform
