Bridging- the- Headgate


The Bureau of Reclamation is one of seven partners committed to working collaboratively for the sustainable and efficient use of western agricultural water supplies.  The other partners include the Natural Resources Conservation Service, National Association of State Conservation Agencies, National Association of Conservation Districts, National Water Resources Association, Western States Water Council, and the Irrigation Association.  Bridging-the-Headgate supports a continued commitment on the part of Federal, State, local, and industry organizations.  The effort emphasizes proactive, voluntary, participatory and incentive-based approaches to water resource management and conservation assistance programs throughout the Western States.

"The Grazing Lands Conservative Initiative" (GLCI)



The Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI) was founded to provide high quality technical assistance on privately owned grazing lands on a voluntary basis and to increase the awareness of the importance of grazing land resources.


Established in 1991, GLCI is carried out through coalitions of individuals and organizations functioning at the local, state, regional and national levels.  The coalitions include livestock producer organizations, scientific and professional grazing resource organizations, conservation and environmental groups, and state and federal natural resource and agriculture agencies.”
